PACNJ Received the American Lung Association 2009 Bernard Gregory Award for Diversity
The Bernard Gregory Awards for Diversity are given in recognition of the creation or promotion of more effective diversity practices within the Lung Association family. The review committee was especially pleased with the work PACNJ did with Newark Public Schools both in awarding all 83 schools with the PACNJ Asthma Friendly School Award, and in working with the district to receive the EPA National IAQ Tools for Schools Award for Excellence.

PACNJ Received the United States Environmental Protection Agency 2007
Indoor Air Quality Tools for Schools “Special Achievement Award”
This award was given in recognition of outstanding commitment to a healthy school environment, at their national conference in Washington D.C.

 

PACNJ received the Allergy and Asthma Network Mothers of Asthmatics 2005 National “Making a Difference Award”
This award was given for excellence in asthma education at the AANMA National Conference in Washington D. C.

Since 2001 The Pediatric/Adult Asthma Coalition of New Jersey, sponsored by the American Lung Association of New Jersey, has been awarded grants from the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, with funds provided by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention under the current Co-operative Agreement 5U59EH000206-2. Additional funding has been provided by the United States Environmental Protection Agency under the current Agreements XA97256707-1, XA98284401-4 and XA97250908-0; and through the Health Resources and Services Administration via Mount Sinai School of Medicine. These state and federal grants total $1,396,376 and represent 93% of the total amount of grants received to date in support of the Coalition. The remaining 7% of funding for the PACNJ was provided by corporate grants in the amount of $93,500. (October 2008) Sponsored by
